Mountain Bride’s Surprise

Half-black Harriet believes her chance of overcoming a life of drudgery in New York is to head west as a mail order bride. Mountain man Robert is living under shadows after returning from the war to see his wife died during childbirth. Robert must try to heal his past hurts, and Harriet must win over her stepchildren and overcome social prejudices.
