Heather tried to live her life to the fullest even though she didn't have a mother or grandmother for very long to help guide her. She made good grades when she was a young girl in school, she graduated from Ole Miss in the top of her class, met a nice man with a bright future, got married, had two children, joined the PTA, then got a divorce because that not so nice man it turned out would end up cheating on her with their nineteen year old babysitter. It was the typical life cycle that so many single mothers all around the world had been through and it had taken its toll on Heather. She was bitter and upset towards men and who could blame her, she had put all her trust and faith into one man, her soul mate, and he had let her down. If only Heather could go back in time and change things for the better, but that was impossible. That is until one magical evening she opened up an old hand carved wooden jewelry box that her grandmother had given to her as girl just before she died. Inside the box was a golden charm bracelet and a small hand written note that said the following.
If you want to travel through time,
Then play a song you have in mind.
Think of a moment that you want to see,
A place with emotion, happiness, or misery.
Then close your eyes and you will be
Instantly transported back in history.
The dream will last through the melody,
And then you'll return to your new reality.
At first Heather had no idea what the words meant. She just thought it was some silly poem that her grandmother had written long ago, but a few minutes later she put on an old Louis Armstrong record and was accidentally transported back in time. She had discovered the true power of the bracelet.
When she returned from her past, Heather tried to alter her reality for the better, and who could blame her, you would too.
